Although mouth guards are recommended for competitive athletics, there are times when lip protection is also needed when braces are worn.

There are several situations where lip protection is helpful when wearing orthodontic appliances such as braces. One of these times is the “newbie” period when the patient is first adjusting to the presence of a lot of strange metal in their mouth. As the patient becomes more accustomed to the braces, they naturally avoid contact with the metal edges and the soft tissue of the lips. During this adjustment period, lip protection is very useful. There are several types of lip protectors available. The best ones are actually attached to the wires of the braces by small adjustable hooks to provide a perfect fit.

Even when the patient has become comfortable with the braces, lip protection can still be useful for specific situations. Some sports activities are of a nature where a full mouth guard is not necessary and yet some slight risk exists. Tennis is a good example. Although one does not normally expect to be hit in the mouth playing tennis, it is not totally out of the realm of possibility. Many patients find this impossible to do when they wear braces. This causes many patients to feel that they must make a choice between their musical participation and orthodontic treatments. The better grade of lip protectors allow this embouchure to occur with no difficulty. The lip protectors enable the patient to continue playing his musical instrument during the course of his treatment period.

The lip protectors also prevent laceration of the lip tissue from brace wires or edges, but also from sharp or uneven teeth. This is why they are valuable during physical activity of any kind. They are very inexpensive and do not cause the discomfort of full contact mouth guards, so their use is not a real detriment to the enjoyment of any activity. The lips are very soft tissue and very sensitive to damage. It just makes a lot of sense to provide the extra security when wearing braces and participating in physical activity that could accidentally lacerate the lips. This is true even if the chances are fairly remote.

Dental wax serves much the same purpose of protection, but it has the disadvantages of sticking to the braces and not lasting quite as long. Some musicians have used it, however, to provide “embouchure” when playing their instruments. All in all, the better types of lip protectors are long lasting, do not stick to the braces, and they provide a higher level of protection. In cases where lip sores or trauma already exists, the lip protectors can seal off the area from further damage and promote healing.

We’ll call them the three P’s to make it easy to remember, let’s get started.

First you have the super excited, ready to take on the world, heavy hitting LOOSERS! No I’m not being too harsh, that’s what they are. All hype, full of promises that they are going to build this thing to the moon with you and then give up before they even get a single sign up or shortly there-after! All talk and no walk. Often times these people underestimate the actual work involved in building a thriving MLM business. All of the sifting through the mines required before you find the gold!

That’s what working an MLM business is all about! Sift for gold and when you find it, polish it. You don’t go trying to turn a stone into gold by rubbing it hard enough! Same goes for wasting time trying to re-motivate these promising losers once they’ve hit the highway, off to look for an easier ride.

MLM is a tough business. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar! You’ve got to have tough skin to handle rejection. Just think how exhausted these gold miners were back in the day. But when they found their gold… OUUUUUUU EEEEE LOOK OUT! They became almost overnight millionaires, and the same is true with MLM. Now thank god we have much more sophisticated sifting tools to help us in our prospecting. It would be like trying to build a downline without harnessing the prospecting power of the Internet! We are really living in an incredible age with all that is at our disposal!

Next in line, the second category of the three types of people in network marketing are the Procrastinators. Usually Procrastinators tend to be our closest friends. We want them in the business so bad we listen to all of their excuses, put off’s and “next week”
answers to joining the business. These Procrastinators are always eager to join in the beginning just “not now”. Right? Ya, we know all too well the Procrastinators. Undoubtedly next week rolls around and they have another “legitimate reason” or excuse why now isn’t the right time either or avoid your calls altogether. The truth is with Procrastinators; it is never the right time!

Don’t count your eggs before they’re hatched! One good way to get a Procrastinator to move it or loose it and take action is to scare the living ba-jesus outta them. Put the fear of loss into them. Of course you’ve got to be confident when saying this. You counteract a Procrastinator with this “Boy, are you ever going to kick yourself in the butt. I’m doing this with or without you and you have a chance to grab a top position in my matrix right now. You will forever regret not making the smart decision”. Ouch! How would you like hearing that from a good friend? Let me tell you, that little gem of a phrase will help you to separate the Procrastinators from the Players. And all you need on a winning team in a few great Players!

Finally, the last category of the three types of people in network marketing are the Players. The Gold we all hoped we attracted right out the get go when we first built out MLM businesses. It takes a lot of sifting to find these people. But here’s the good news you only need a few of them! A few pieces of gold are worth much more than a sack full of rocks!

Players have distinct qualities. They play the game, do the numbers, make the calls, make the sales, and do something when they say they will. They are natural born leaders, people that take the initiative to do things on their own. They have what it takes to stick in the ring and play another round. Players get the work done and stick to their vision. Sure they may have bad days or weeks like the rest of us, however their vision of the future is stronger than defeat. That’s why when you find a player, you spend time polishing them, just like the rare gems that they are!

Remember the 80/20 rule. Only 20% of your team will perhaps be Player material. Spend 80% of your time working and helping them get to the next level in the marketing plan. Let the other 80% to the demons with which they allow to infect their minds. The excuses, the “cants”, the “it’s just not the right timing for me”. We’ve all heard this before, even after people sign up in the business!

Keep one thing straight in your mind. Become fascinated by the people that don’t take your incredible opportunity and ride it to the moon with you. Being fascinated saves you a whole lot of frustration too! I wanted to share a pearl of wisdom which I believe will be vital to your home based travel business - or any other business, for that matter. Actually it may even benefit your individual life. I have a photo of myself surrounded by my four children (including my newborn) at our local hospital. This photo represents joy. I am surrounded by my pearls and my lovely wife took the photo!

Why do I mention this? Well, throughout the years I have received many comments such as - “you are too young to have children, 2 children - wow! (3 … 4… children!!!!), you must be Crazy!” The main stream of comment revolved around how unlucky we were or that we were crazy to have so many children at a young age. Many would think that we had not planned to have four children, that we should have “purchased pay TV” - or “entertained ourselves in other ways!”

But my friends, the truth of the matter was that my wife and I knew the blessings that a family brings. We knew the joy that would come into our lives having to tend, care and nurture our children. Not everyone can have this blessing and gift. We planned to have children, we planned to provide for our children, and we planned everything!

Now, not all of our plans went the way we wanted them to - but I’m happy to say that most have gone either the way we planned or exceeded our expectations.

It’s funny, because business is exactly the same in terms of planning. Do you honestly think for one moment that a successful business entrepreneur in the home based travel industry or any other business industry achieved their success by luck? NO WAY! They have planned EVERYTHING. Starting from:

1. What the individual wants to achieve.

2. What Internet Marketing or business knowledge they need to acquire

3. What sacrifices need to be considered for success

4. What happens IF they do not achieve quick success, and what happens if they do?

Everything is planned and therefore the person begins to attract the success they have planned. The fool is the person who thinks that the law of attraction is only positive thinking. It is a bit like saying mathematics is multiplication. Yes it is true that multiplication is part of mathematics BUT there is SO MUCH MORE to mathematics than just multiplication.

There is so much more to the LAW of ATTRACTION than just positive thinking. You plan for success, your goals are aimed to achieve success you put yourself in the way of success. If you do this then success will hit you.

A home travel business or any other business venture needs planning. Does one ponder the reason that over 95% of home based business owners fail? I have and have come to the conclusion that one of the factors would rest at the fact that the individual did not adequately plan. Plan a way around failure. If that means returning to your employment for a short period of time - then so be it - But do have a plan.

Belief

That’s why people fail. They just don’t believe that they can have success. Perhaps someday almost all people will come to the realization that MLM works, and that it can work for them. That someday will happen for you if you can truly understand and believe.

Belief #1 - You must believe in your MLM company

When you get started in MLM you probably believe in the MLM concept, it just makes sense, but a lot of people join an MLM company they will never believe in. You leave this exciting meeting and you’ve met people just like you who are changing their lives and it’s easy to get excited. But, when that excitement wears off, do you really believe in the company you just joined?

If you don’t believe in the company, you’ll never talk to anybody about it, and when asked what happened to your new business you will say something like “I tried that and it didn’t work”.

Build belief in your MLM company by asking questions, going to meetings, talking with successful people and putting yourself in a supportive environment. Read all the literature and participate in the webinars and conference calls, immerse yourself in this new world. If you don’t believe in your MLM company you have no shot at success!

Belief #2 - You must believe in your MLM company’s products or services

You must be a product of the product. You’ve probably heard it before, but have you done it consistently? Do you know your products or services backwards and forwards because you’ve used them? Would you sell them to your mother or best friend?

Sure, sales people can sell anybody anything, but most multi-level marketers aren’t great sales people. People with integrity have to believe in what they’re doing or they won’t do it. Use the same products you’re attempting to market or you won’t ever achieve long term success.

Belief #3 - You must believe in MLM

This is where almost everyone struggles mightily. I’d like to believe in MLM, but all I’ve ever done is fail. Take it from a former MLM loser, anybody with desire and time can be successful in MLM.

Study the industry, talk to people who are living lives on their terms and you will begin to believe. Get as close as you possibly can to successful multi level marketers and ask them what has helped them become successful.

We’ve got friends who didn’t believe in MLM until we took a 7 week vacation! Hearing about success is one thing, knowing somebody who has taken a 7 week vacation is a whole different ballgame.

Belief #4 - You must believe in yourself

Even if you totally believe in your MLM company and your company’s products and believe in the MLM industry, none of that matters if you don’t believe that you can become successful. Most of us carry a lot of baggage with us all of our lives.

The failures in our past do not have to predict our future, but all too often we let those failures trap us into thinking that we cannot escape. We believe that we cannot escape poverty, even though we can.

A very good friend of ours grew up in the projects on the south side of Chicago. His mother believed that she could find a better life for her children, so she moved her family, and in the process dramatically altered the lives of generations. Her children and grandchildren are different because of her sacrifice.

They are different because she believed!

We met her son and shared our belief that MLM could change his life and the lives of his children. Today our friend earns 6 figures in our MLM company, a fact that we are both thankful for.

When you develop all 4 of the beliefs in this article you will be given the opportunity to shape and change the lives of people you would have never met any other way. If you are suffering from a RSI or repetitive stress injury, then there are some exercises that you can do at your desk during rest periods that will help your condition.

These same exercises can also help prevent repetitive stress if you dont have it yet. Its not necessary to perform all of them, and it doesnt matter what order you do them. Each of the exercises will result in some stretching and you should attempt to hold each stretch for about 15 to 30 seconds.

Youll want to repeat each stretch three times.

Be mindful that these suggested stretching exercises are just guidelines and you should do only what is comfortable for you. Make sure that when you are doing these exercises that you only engage in a gentle stretch and that you dont stretch to the point of a painful feeling.

If you do start to feel some pain, then you should reduce the number of repetitions or shorten the amount of time that you hold each stretch. If discomfort continues, you should back off or eliminate that particular exercise. Of course, as with any type of exercise and any questions about these exercises and repetitive stress injury, you should consult with your doctor before engaging in them.

The first exercise starts with you holding both of your hands out in front of you and stretching them for a few seconds. You should work your fingers in and out until you feel a gentle stretch.

This next exercise involves you holding out both of your hands in front of you and curling your fingers and thumbs under at your first knuckle and gently squeezing them together.

Another good type of stretching exercise for RSI is done by placing your arms straight out in front of you, then raising your right hand so that your palm faces away from your body. Place your left palm onto the fingers of your right hand and press the fingers toward you until you feel the gentle stretch. Repeat these same steps reversing the process. In addition, a complementary exercise would be to keep your arms straight out in front of you and drop your right hand down with it bent at the wrist. Put your left hand on the knuckles of your right hand and press toward you until you feel the gentle stretch in the top of your wrist.

Swap your hands and repeat it on the other hand.

While your arms are still out in front of you, lace your fingers together and turn your hands downward and over so that your palms are facing away from you. Press outward until your arms are completely straight and you feel the gentle stretch.

Next holding your right hand out in front of you with your palm facing up; take your left hand and massage your right hand from the inside out and in between your fingers.

Do this on both hands.

These are just a few of the exercises of many, many more that you can do to help ease the tension. Remember repetitive stress injury is brought on by repetitive motions that eventually create tension and inflammation.

The key to preventing and/or treating RSI is to make sure you avoid opportunities for your muscles to tighten and strain. Particularly for those who are cubicle bound, dont just stretch your arms and fingers add your neck and shoulders as well to your desk stretching routine. All of this will help aid the healing of your repetitive stress injury.

Many people think of a second mortgage as a fixed interest, lump sum loan. However, that is only one form of a second mortgage. A second mortgage is actually ANY secondary lien on your home–secured loan with your home pledged as collateral. Second mortgages are typically categorized as fixed mortgage rate home equity installment loans (HELs), also known as home equity loans, and home equity lines of credit (HELOCs) which are adjustable rate mortgages.

The Federal Reserve states that the home equity line of credit annual percentage rate (APR) is a variable rate loan based solely on a publicly available index (such as the prime rate published in the Wall Street Journal or a U.S. Treasury bill rate). The APR does not include points or other finance charges. The monthly payment amount will adjust as your loan balance and interest rate changes. Loan terms can be anywhere from 15 to 30 years.

HELOCs have a draw period, typically occurring in the first 10-15 years, with the remaining term on the loan referred to as the repayment period. During the draw period, you can draw out money on a revolving basis similar to a credit card without applying for a new loan, as long as the amount does not exceed the total amount of the original HELOC. During the repayment period you may be allowed to renew the credit line. If your plan does not allow renewals, you will not be able to borrow additional money once the draw period ends. Interest is paid only on the amount of equity you use.

A Home Equity Installment Loan (HEL) is a fixed mortgage rate loan, which means the annual percentage rate (APR) and monthly payment will stay the same for the life of your loan. The APR for a HEL takes into account the interest rate charged plus points and other finance charges. Loan terms can be anywhere from 5 to 30 years, but are typically 15 to 20 years. Unlike a HELOC, you get a lump sum for which you immediately start paying principal and interest. If you decide later that you need additional funds, mortgage refinancing or getting an additional loan with additional closing costs are your only options.

Which type of loan you choose depends on your financial needs. A HELOC may be best if you have a recurring need for money (e.g., home improvements or a home repair project that has anticipated additional expenses). The security of a fixed-rate 2nd mortgage will probably provide much-needed relief for a large one-time expense (e.g., debt consolidation).
